Well, the event powered by Max Life Insurance was truly a big hit and totally amazing. Right from the organization of the event to the arrangement of participants and jury. The event was outstanding! The event known as the I Genius young singing starts season II was a great initiative by Max Life Insurance to promote talent and also recognize the talent on a public platform. The association of two large and renowned organizations coming together and organizing such events is a great boost to the young talent of our country.

Post the huge hit and success story of season I, the company planned to launch this event yet again and came up with season II to create yet another hit story. The programme attracted total of more than two lakh fifty thousand participants this year too across India and works as a great guiding source for children and young minds of the age group between 4-15 years. The organization of such events truly reflects the social responsibility of Max Life Insurance where they are ready to invest in talent and young minds of the future.

I personally loved and thoroughly enjoyed the performance of all the young dynamites who did an amazing job at this young age. The confidence level of these dynamites was sky high and clearly shows the talent our country has. Besides the jury was commendable with renowned members of our Industry like Salim Merchant and Shraddha Sharma. A big applause to the jury to make such a tough call and have winners in front of us, because it truly is a task to dishearten or judge among such young talents where all of them are amazingly outstanding.

To conclude my experience I would just say the event was a great initiative by Max Life Insurance and Universal Music India where they decided to promote the young talents and offered them a great platform for their first break.

When it comes to the happiness of my loved ones, infinity is the limit till where I can reach or aim at reaching to ensure their happiness or a smile on their face. I am sure it is the same for all of us, as our loved ones and family is what we live for and love to do things for. In my family I am closest to my younger sister and wish to give her all the happiness that she deserves and wish to fulfil every wish of hers, and so it goes without saying that she is the most pampered by me in every aspect, Be it Showroom shopping to Street Hoping, we do it all together. And so there is no exception to food. Food being our source of living or rather the only hope for living.

I would be more than willing to use a quick and rather easy method to get away with her demand when it comes upon me, given the fact that I am lazy too. But Nevertheless, I enjoy cooking for her some yummy and different food, which is not just yummy in taste but also healthy to the tummy. REAL TOGETHERNESS

The moment I hear the word togetherness, I think that the real essence of togetherness is lost in the modern society. Blame it on the mobile phones, laptops, IPad and the list goes on or blame it on the influence of the western culture that the entire concept of togetherness is lost.

There are hardly times when we think of having a get- together with family as we are so busy with work and our social life that we do not think it’s important to connect with family anymore. When I got an opportunity to pen down my thoughts on real togetherness, prompt came this idea of spending time with my family on some hill station in the arms of Mother Nature.

This in my opinion is a superb way in which we can all bond together and stay away from all the hustles of the city life and also when I tell this idea to my family I will make sure that everybody decides to keep their phones and all their gadgets back at home. I would strictly tell of them to not carry any of it as according to me it spoils the idea of togetherness. This is because we all get lost in the technological world and then we are not able to give time, and I mean quality time to each other.

Well, I plan to take this time of togetherness and so called vacation break this Diwali, where I plan to go away from the city lights and the artificial decorations, because I believe in celebrating this time with my family on a beautiful hill station, where the natural day light will be our Diwali lights and the bird songs will be the Diwali crackers. I personally am a nature loving person, and I believe there is nothing more beautiful than the beauty of the almighty.

We plan to go to this place with my family, where we will indulge in some fun activities that we never get a chance to do in our busy work schedules. Right from Mountain Climbing to River Rafting, it is all going to be part of our plan. The reason why we also chose Diwali as an occasion to take this trip is because, well we will live a society where we cannot afford of take vacations and leaves from work. And hence this time of the year felt the perfect time to do it. With my Mom’s home-made food to long night train travels it will all be a fun trip, where the real essence of togetherness and love will be cherished. Times like these always bring in more love and joy in the family where we truly connect to each other. Well, this is my little contribution towards planning a time of real togetherness with my family.

The Path of Zarathustra

Inspirational, well this was the first word that came to my mind immediately after watching the movie. The movie totally inspired me in every aspect. It took me back to history of Parsi’s. The real essence of Parsi religion and what does it comprise of. The movie was well directed and put across the aspect of depleting Parsi community in the world. It spoke about religion, which is a topic of debate in the modern world, where the younger generation do not believe in the old myths of religion and wish to believe in what they can read and rationalize with. The movie well serves the purpose for these youngsters to learn and understand the true inception of Parsi’s.

The start of the movie spoke about how this young girl living with her grandfather is away from all the worldly things and is wanting to live the rest of the life with her grandfather in a faraway village, away from all the motion and commotion of the world. As the movie unfolds, we see that the girl now moves to her aunt’s house in the busiest metro of our country, Mumbai. She does so, as she makes a promise to her dying grandfather, to get back to the world and find out more about the Parsi community and the religion. She comes to Mumbai, with this one book given to her by her grandfather, who promised her that the book will unfold itself once she is with the people she is supposed to be with, her own people, her community, and her religion.

Well, so on goes the story of this girl, where she meets different people and tries to question them more and more about religion. As she goes around meeting these people, the story explains the audiences about the few and most important pillars of the religion and its inception. The story also puts light to a few ancient day laws set by the Parsi community which need to be changed and removed in order to survive in the modern lifestyle. One such example was the marriage of Parsi woman in another religion.

And so, many such aspects were bought to light with the help of this movie. We could enjoy a nice tour to the lives of many Parsi’s out there by understanding their daily environment, the real essence of the fire temple and many more. In order to conclude I would just say that the movie did complete justice in explaining the Parsi community and its inception. It was well directed and all characters in the movie just fitted in well. In all it was a movie with great inspirational message to the audiences. Look forward to more great work by such young directors to inspire the youth of the country.

Eat healthy and stay fit. We hear or say this quite often but how many of us actually implement this? Eating right in order to stay healthy is very important. It is crucial that we eat good food and in the appropriate quantity that will help our body to stay fit and healthy at all times.

Easier said than done. These days everybody is so busy with work and other things that we happen to miss out on things like these which in the long run can affect our body system. Take for example the ban on noodles and Chinese food outside schools, all this while we knew that eating junk is unhealthy but we still continued eating. Only when we got to know that the MSG present leads to laziness and acts like a slow poison did we give up on that junk. Unless we are shaken up we did not realize the effect of junk food on our bodies.

We all just pick up food and eat it to fill our stomachs. We do not think about the long run effects it can have on our bodies. The trend amongst the college students is to pick up any food only for the sake of taste without thinking about whether it is good for you or not.

If we eat too much of junk food and too often we not only become lazy but also get tired very easily. Thus eating right is very important. The craze amongst young girls to become thin is a lot and that’s why many a times they take up crash dieting. Crash dieting can have adverse effects on once body. Our body is used to certain routine. It works like a machine, it similar to a machine needs food in certain intervals. Crash dieting is contrary to this need of the body. Crash dieting might show results for a meanwhile but ultimately it is bad for our body system.

Eating a balanced diet is the right thing to do. Avoid junk food and then you do not even have to take to crash dieting. A typical balanced diet would include- lots of fruits and vegetables, ample of water and juices, some amount of fatty food like cheese, etc. is needed too but in a little quantity. Reliance Meet

The reliance retirement fund meet was held on the 6^th of June. It was such a nice event. It taught me so many things that I used to take for granted in the past. We bloggers bonded well and took home not just memories but great learnings.

We learnt at the meet that saving is very important and also of the many ways through which we can save and grow our money. All this while we thought that we were to work for money but at the event we were taught as to how money can work for us.

There are so many ways in which we can save money. Right from fixed deposits at the bank to mutual funds and various other investment plans. The idea of the meet was to invest in one such plan that can help you secure your future.

There was also one calculator which helped us to understand the amount that we will need to save and what we saw was that on an average, going as per the current inflation rate somebody who spends 25000 a month will have to save a minimum of 3000 every month if he or she plans to retire at the age of 55 in order to retain the same lifestyle. So this requires planning. Planning for a better tomorrow.

It was a very informative meet as we got to know of the need to save money or rather invest money and make it grow for us.

Love in another religion?

 Love, what is the true meaning of the word. In the purest form what I understand it is to care for someone and to give your 100% for the person, it is unconditional in every manner. That’s how pure love is!

They say we must love one and all, we are taught this right from the time we are born. Love each and every creation of God, right from humans to animals to plants to the mother earth. Sorry, guess I forgot to add a clause there, did I? When it comes to loving humans, did I not mention in bold, love within your people. Confused aren’t you? So am I!

Folks we were taught this by our very own parents and teachers and all relatives, love humans, and hold no grudge or feeling of hatred against any, but why is that I still feel my parents did not mention the hidden clause when they explained this to me, or why didn’t they tell me love can happen only within the same community or in the broader aspect within the same religion. We say we have moved away from the religion bias society and that we are adopting the western culture, but somewhere deep down there, shake yourself and ask, have we really done that? Don’t we still have our jaw drop when we hear a Hindu neighbor marrying a Muslim? Or a Parsi marrying a Catholic? Why was the question even then and even now!

I was taught in school that we are all Indians, yes we have different religions and cultures in our country just to add diversity and not division within people of the same country. I was told for there is just one god in the world, and all I must do is still respect other religions for we are children of the same mother and just our style and methods of worshiping the god are different. Was this all just a lie? Have I spent 25 years of my life in a lie and living with people of dual standards?

I am ashamed today, as we humans are so selfish and so pathetic in our deeds that we are slowly killing humanity with religion bias. I asked my mother today, Mom what if I love someone who is from another religion, and a flat answer I get is no. the justification was its important you marry people who are your own and within your community, I immediately question back, Mom but I was told to only love, I was never told that there is a hidden clause to loving. To which I get a mock and she walks off, because I pissed her off.

Why can we not accept the fact that we are hypocrites and that we are dual standard individuals who can never think above religion and community. Love holds no value in this urban society where people are divided in the name of god and religion.

My question still goes unanswered, is loving in another religion acceptable?

Cricket is not something that Sanjeev Kapoor masters at and cooking might not be Dhoni’s genre. It would be fun to watch them play reverse roles. Similarly for Saina Nehwal and Marry Kom. We get to see cricketers in advertisement and acting also of late but we don’t get to see them in cooking shows or dancing shows or singing for that matter.

The Indian audience is pretty crazy, no offense intended. If we love something or someone we go mad about it. We want to know all about it. We want to know more about it and a format like that would be catering masses. Picking up celebrities from the field of cricket, tennis, swimming, boxing, dancing, cooking, etc and reversing their roles to watch how they play when they don’t play a sport or do a thing that has got their heart would be hell lot of fun in my opinion.

I really want to know what Kapil Dev has in store for us. This new league is trending on twitter. This new league is making everybody wonder what it is going to be all about. I too really can’t wait to know what it is going to be about.

The Power of Two

Together we can and together we will, haven’t we all heard of this saying? There is no fun in doing things alone. When you have somebody with you who is as crazy as you, it’s a totally different experience altogether. Well not always are we lucky enough to find somebody who is just like you but I have been fortunate in this case.

Together with someone you can achieve a lot more than what you could have alone. A companion, a friend or a mentor is needed by one and all. The power of two can change a lot of things, it can make anything #TwiceAsNice.

Say if are to go to mall wouldn’t we like we got the bag that we liked from Gucci along with that top from Zara? Wouldn’t we like to have some Coke with Pizza? Together with something is always better. It makes that thing twice as nice. In this case bag and a top would make for a complete attire and the latter for a complete meal. Now do you see the power of two?

Nakhare Wala Nashta

Nakhare Wala Nashta it is for me at Guptaji’s place. Well I am
a food lover and I can eat almost at any time of the day without any regrets of
putting on those extra calories. I am a person who loves food to an extent that
I can literally get into an argument or fight with someone for my food, well
that is how crazy I am about food. Being a food lover is no harm and one must
appreciate all types of food, as it is a creation of someone genius for sure,
and what better way than having to eat it! With the fact of accepting the title
of being a food hogger and Bukhad as they call me sweetly in my group, I must
also accept that I ensure that eat some healthy food as well. As much as I much
and die of junk food and all the road side food, I also ensure I give my body
the required nutrients by enjoying and relishing on some healthy food. Be it my
early morning breakfast or my evening time snacks, I ensure I take on to some
healthy food.

My idea of food has always been having spicy yet tasty food
and hence my preference and my selection or rather to say it in a better
manner, to self-invite myself to Gupta Ji’s place would be to have the Nakhre
Wala Nashta. Well now this sounds so much like me and matches so well to my
personality as well. That is just one reason for me to go to Gupta Ji’s place
but rather the most important one is because the recipe of the Nashta has all
the ingredients that I love the most. To name the Nakhre Wala Nashta better, we
call it the Chapatti Cornflakes Chivda. I am not at all a sweet lover and hence
I completely love this one. The Chapatti Cornflakes Chivda has a proper mix of

fried daria dal, which also ensure good health nutrients. Peanut gives the

Happiness is equivalent to Food! Amused are you? Well don’t be, I am a food lover and honestly there is nothing more than food that can make me happy. When I saw this on Indi blogger this morning, that one needs to share their story of happiness or things that bring happiness, I had a million thoughts in my mind first, right from my little nephew to playing badminton, to cycling to partying with friends but then if I really had to rethink on this, I instantly thought to myself, every time I am out, what do I enjoy doing the most or what is that I cannot resist. And then the brain struck its correct chord and promptly came the answer, food it is!

Yes, truly it is for me, I love food and it brings that million dollar smile on my happiness that probably no one can do. I mean, when I am upset, I like to go out and eat so that I am refreshed and with some good food in my tummy I can get away with the bad mood zone. Yet again when I am

happy, I crave for some more happiness and then I think of food again.  Because happiness is nothing if you don’t enjoy a good meal. Yet again, when I am out with family, be it any occasion family 

get together or wedding celebration or just random birthdays, it is the food that is ultimately that satisfies me in every manner. Honestly every time I am invited for a wedding or a birthday party, the very thought of food gets me excited and there comes a spontaneous reply, I am in for this!

Well, I am food lover as I mentioned earlier and be it any food, from junk to home food, I and my tummy are happy with the fact that we are going to be energized with some good food. To be more honest, I enjoy the road side junk food, right from enjoying that plate of pani puri in the lane below my house, to having a burger with my little sister and also I must mention, I have to bear her boring long conversations of college, not that don’t give her a download of my office gossips. :-p

Be it a long chat with my dear friends or just normal bitching conversations, it is always food that has constantly been part of my life and my journey and hence considering all loyalty food has showered upon me, I hereby declare food to be my soul partner and declare it with a winner award for ultimate happiness in my life. Food you have been the best thing in my life and I truly thank you for being a reason for bringing that smile on my face, in good and bad times.

HAPPY HAIR WITH GARNIER

Well Guys, here I am writing this post with a feeling which says; Happy Hair. I am sure you all are wondering, as to why I say that today. So well here is the answer to your questions; Garnier Triple Nutrition it is. Well Garnier promised to take care and it has truly lived up to the promise of taking care of my hair.

So, here is how it all started, I took up this challenge by Garnier, which very well promised to help me get rid of all my hair worries. To give you all a quick brief, my hair is on the curly side, and with curly hair there come certain unwanted guests, like dryness, split ends and frizzy hair. I have always struggled to manage my hair and get them in shape. In fact every time I went to the salon, I was always told to cut down on the length to avoid split ends, sometimes to an extent that I have pleaded to the hair stylist to cut minimum length.

Honestly, nothing has really worked on my hair, from cutting off my split ends to changing shampoos to oil application, nothing has worked on my hair and I have always disliked my hair. Although people say I have the best curls, but there is a lot of serum and ironing that goes behind maintaining them.

So, well this is my story of my hair and when I got to know about the Garnier challenge, I was not quite excited, as many brands have promised the best results but there has been no respite. So I took this up like any other challenge and bothered little. It was only after 15 days of application of the amazing shampoo and conditioner that I noticed some positive results. I personally felt that my hair was smoother and manageable.

With absolutely no application of serum and no dryers, I felt my hair was still in place. I was amazed to see these results and went on using the shampoo and here I am today, after using Garnier for a good 3 weeks writing my review about the amazing product. Let me tell you Garnier has lived up to the promise and has made my hair so beautiful that I am totally in love with them.

I now feel my hair is stronger, with very little hair fall, which I blame on the pollution in the city. I see no split ends and tough and dry hair, in fact my hair shines and just recently when I was out with my friends I was complimented for the amazing smell and style of my hair. I do very little now and yet my hair is in place, it feels good.

All thanks to garnier, I am now able to get away with the heating machines which have left my hair damaged. On the contrary my hair is now well kept and I can now see the styling done on my hair. My hair has natural curls which are well prominent and look beautiful. I really take this opportunity to thank Garnier for doing this to my hair and making my hair happy hair.

WE ARE TOGETHER IN THIS JOURNEY

How easy it is to be optimistic? How easy it is to always be all positive and to be all happy? What does it take to take all things positively? Life is a learning curve. Life has various lessons to teach. It is for us to learn from life, it is for us to embark the good things that life has to offer us. It for us to learn from our mistakes and come up every time there we fail.  It is we who have to learn that failure is a stepping stone to success and we have to rise each time we fall. We need to understand that every day brings up a new challenge and a fresh start. One must make the fullest use of life. We need to take every aspect with pride and optimism. We need to learn the art of never giving up, of positivity and of optimism from life.

 This is my story of optimism. It is about how my sisters give me a hope to achieve and live or rather realize my dream.

My sister have always been there for me and this goes in the toughest of times as well. She in the true sense has always been with me through my thick and thin.

 I had failed in my prelim test for my boards. I wanted to keep quiet and bury the facts. I didn't want anybody at home to know about this because I thought they would look down at me and maybe even make fun of me. I didn't want to have that failure tag attached to me, no that’s not how I liked it.

My sister noticed that I was upset and she made earnest efforts to ask what it was. Initially being afraid of what example I was setting for my younger sister my failing in an examination, I didn't open up. She then recited to me a self-made story about her being in trouble and wanting me to intervene. That is when I could not resist and wanted to help her in all means. That is how she allowed me to let my heart down to her. I also shared about my school results with her. I told her about how I had failed. She didn't make fun of me, she didn't even think that I was setting a bad example for her. She instead inspired me to face the problem and work on it rather than shying away. She told to me that by shying away from my failure, I was setting a wrong example for her and not by failing.

It is because of my little sister that I not only cleared my board exams but also ranked first in school, I got placed in a good MBA college and now I am a banker and a correct example that I wanted to be.

The learning is to deal with the problem #together and not to hesitate in sharing with the one you trust. Today I share all my day to day expressions with her and she does the same.

START A NEW LIFE

Change is what some call it. Way of living is what I refer to it. I think and I strongly believe that changes are good and they are crucial. One cannot expect to lead the same kind of life, irrespective of how much they love it all their life. There are times when they have to or rather they will to need to break through all the walls and all the boundaries that surround them and lead a new life. A life that they want to lead. A life that is care free. A life that they wish to lead with their set of principles and their set of rules.

So here is a glimpse of how I was as a kid and to what I have grown up to be. With constant remarks from people around telling me that I have changed and my way of living is not right or rather not something that the society can accept. As a kid I was very attached to my mother. Attachment is good but over attachment can make you weak and to have your greatest strength (your mother) turn into a weakness is not how I wanted my life to shape up. So with a very heavy heart I decided to join boarding in the 7^th standard. Everybody in the family and also all the relatives thought it was not going to work and I would return the very next day as I had not stayed without my mother even for a single day.

But well I did stay. Not just for a day but for years together. Away from the comforts of my house. Away from my beloved family and away from my mother, my everything. This changed me as a person. I grew up to be a stronger and a more confident person. Initially I did miss my mother but later I learnt to live without her. This was the first bold move of my life. Next big thing that I did was finding a job away from home. So well after my high school, I returned back home. Away from home doesn’t necessarily mean away from heart, right? So of course the love for my mother and everybody else in the family was still a lot. I did my college and finally when it came to placements, I chose to move out. I chose to move to a better city, with a better prospects. I choose to move to Bangalore from my city of residence- Ujjain. Everybody in the family objected this, my mother too. She said that she didn’t want me to go because the society would think that it’s the boarding that has changed me and I was supposed to be the girl who would stay back home and cook and do all the household chores and not move out of the city like this. But I chose the latter and with a lot of pride I can say that was my #StartANewLife.

Here’s a thought often
we hear want we want to, what is loud but who really cares of the unsaid or
speechless.

Ever since I saw my
sister’s birth I thought to give her the best, all the comfort.

When I saw her laugh
that earned me thousands, it is priceless, but tears in her eyes turned my
world upside down, I can’t just see her cry. When at play when hungry when sleep
all meant a lot.

I did all that called
for to ensure her be healthy and happy but what went unnoticed was when she was
at sleep and so was the family I had made a promise to resolve that.

She cried because she
was not at ease, I could feel the pain then and that is how a mother is,
although I am her sister by relation and laws of society but in the true sense I
feel I am a mother to her, for I have bought her up and felt the pain, when she
has been in pain. I have danced with joy when she has danced with happiness. I still
remember when she was young and cried in the night, with the discomfort she
faced due to wetness. It is important that a child sleeps well, because only
then the morning of the child is happy and joyful. It helps the child be active
and playful. A healthy and playful child catches attention of all and as a
mother it is your duty to ensure that your child is always joyful and happy.

A night’s sleep
ensures that the child is up fresh and hence any discomfort in the night causes
the child a lot of discomfort and makes the child very cranky. If the child is
unhappy, ultimately the mother and the whole family is at unease. Early to bed,
and early to rise makes the man a healthy man and makes the man wise, the same
applies to the child, it makes the child healthy and wise and allows the child
to be by himself or herself.

A happy child brings
happiness to the home and makes the home bright and lively. Hence the child
must be well taken care of. To avoid any infections the child must be well
taken care of especially with the hygiene of the child. Nowadays there are a
lot of infections and diseases and with this it becomes very important to
ensure that the child is not sleeping in any discomfort especially in the
night. Therefore I totally agree and go by pampers which helps my child sleep
well and also ensures that my child is away from any infections and diseases. Because
a healthy child bring happiness to the home.

OPTIMISM

Optimism the word it is! I have heard it from one and all, all my elders, all my friends, my peers; they always said be optimistic in life, it will help you progress. Well to be very honest I never understood the true essence of the word then and took it very casually, until recently when I came across things in my life which changed me and made a different person altogether. Folks, let’s face it we have all gone through rough patches in our life and one learns a lot during these situation. At least for me personally I have learnt a lot and one of the most important things was being optimistic. One must never give up easily in life, the true meaning of this phrase is only understood and applied by few of us in life and trust me you, this motivation and attitude of never giving up and being positive in life will take you miles ahead in life.

We have all been through failures, through hard times and through situations where we have wanted to give up on life and living completely, but a true winner or a true victory is in not coming out of these situations rather it is on how you face it and how you deal with it and hence here I am today openly saying it with the expression of my words; Be Optimistic!

Let me share with you a small incident that has made me believe in living my life with more and more optimism and positive attitude. Recent enough it was, when we all building friends gathered and planned for New Year’s Eve, we went partying like all youngsters do and so we were enjoying the most of the last few hours of the year 2014. Our happiness turned into sorrow within no time. Well it happened so that one of my friend got a call from her mother and so she decided to step out and talk to her, given the loud music she could barely hear her mother on the other side of the phone. While she walks out of the dance floor, she hurriedly rushes to the exit of the room to avoid her mother from long hold, while she rushes to the exit, she missed the staircase or rather did not notice the staircase and comes crashing down on the floor. The very next moment the bouncers come to her rescue and the hotel manager enquires about her relatives, we are in utter shock and move ahead only to see my dear friend in a pool of blood. She is unconscious now and we are speechless. We rush her to the nearby hospital and after few days of being hospitalized we realize that my dear friend will never be able to hit the dance floor again, nor will we ever be able to see her lovely moves again, for she will never be able to be on her own two feet in life again.

Well, we all had no words to this and avoided being besides her for quite a few days only to help her get away with the trauma but we were wrong, it was us (we friends who were weak) and coward who could face her. As she was ready to live her life again and never gave up because of this incident. She is now on wheel chair and does everything and every activity that we people do, who have all limbs in place. She drives her own car and in fact drives us for long drives to marine drive. Her positive attitude is what makes me so strong and every time I look at her or meet her, I feel more optimistic. She is in true sense a living example of an optimistic individual and a person who can motivate. She motivates me and makes me a stronger individual every time we cross paths. Her smile and struggle both bring in optimism to my life. The way she makes that effort to smile and remain so positive even after having to face such hardships at such young age, make me optimistic. She is my true inspiration and motivation for living an optimistic life.

APNO KO APNE DUM PE JEENA SIKHAO

One comes alone and goes alone from this world. So is the
law of nature they say and I truly abide by it, because I am no different and
my family is no different. Today, I am at an age where I feel I am independent
not just financially but also in every other aspect. Your parents are always
the backbone you need to rely on and who nurture you with those values and
upbringing of becoming self-reliant. It is no different for me and I truly
believe that my mother has been that one inspiration in my life who has been
rock solid and has guided me in every decision of my life, which has now made
me capable of becoming a person of substance or rather a woman of substance.

I am sure most of us relate to this and made find it quite
common when I say that my mother has been my guide, my mentor and my inspiration,
but it has been different for me and I can explain this well. My mother has
bought me up solely and has been a single parent, in such a situation one can
imagine the compromises and struggle she has gone through, but hold on that
struggle never passed on to me or rather she was there like a rock preventing
me from all the problems and giving me shelter.

From my education to my working, she always let me take my decision
at the same time ensured she guided me well where I went wrong. My education
was difficult considering my finances but the passion for studying never died
inside me. I went on from graduation to post graduation to further doing my
MBA. The credit for this solely goes to my mother for she let me live with my
passion and ensured it was well nurtured. It is very recently that I completed
my MBA and now am preparing for my Doctorate Degree. For I said my mother was
the reason behind this. I questioned her one day, the reason why she allowed me
to keep in touch with academics and never stopped me, she was sobbing and
replied that you live my dream and when you study and do well I feel the satisfaction
and proud within me, as you live my dream. She could do that because she made
the correct financial decisions and made enough savings for me to pursue my
interests.

Today, when she sees me starting my research, she feels
proud and I feel immense satisfaction from within, for this is what I always
wanted to do. I am pursuing my Ph.D now and I thank my mother for this, because
without her support I would not be what I am today and she made me independent
enough to settle my myself in another country altogether. She lead me through a
path and then let me figure out the roads myself, because it is each one’s
individual journey and we need to find our way on our own. My mother made me
self-reliant. Thank you mom!

HAPPY HAIR ?

Tried it all, nothing works, for my hair refuses to budge! Like most girls, even I have issues with my hair, to an extent that I sometimes feel going bald. My hair has always been on the rough and dry side, with of course split ends adding to it. And to be very frank I have never liked my hair, because it has never liked me either.

I suffer from the bad hair day’s problem very often, so often that it occurs almost 2 -3 times in a week, and with no option left I am forced to tie my hair into a bun. Bun, makes me feel older than my age and I hate it when people say; leave your hair open. It is only me from within who understands what it is to leave my hair open.

I wish I had hair, which was easy to manage or at least god enough to let them stay away from a closed knot. I wish I did not have to waste hours in the salon to get that perfect hair do and that a breeze would wipe them all away. All I wish I had hair that would bounce in the air, with no split ends like dead roots of a tree and that my friends never teased me of not being able to set them free.

HAPPY MORNINGS

A child’s joy is a mother’s joy, a child’s pain is a mother’s pain and so when a child is uneasy or not comfortable it is the mother who struggles to ensure that the child is made comfortable. As a mother your child is utmost priority and especially when the child cannot speak and it is only the actions of the child that make you understand what the child wants. A mother understand best what the child needs and hence this is yet one of the most important and crucial things that a mother needs to take care of.

A child’s good night sleep makes the child wake up fresh and active. I am sure we all like it when our children our full of life and active. And the credit to this goes to the mother. A mother’s up bringing and care is seen in the child’s behavior. If a child is happy and dancing it is the mother who has ensured to keep the child comfortable in the night and ensuring that the child has had a good night sleep.

From reading out stories to singing the lullaby, we as mothers have done it all for our children and always strive to do more for their happiness. I as a mother have always believed in giving my child the best of everything and I believe in absolutely no compromise for my child’s health.

When I speak about health it starts with the basics that a child needs, which is also one of the most important one that is ensuring that the child’s diapers are changed in proper time and that he has to face no inconvenience for any such issue. This becomes more important in the night, because during the day a mother is there all active to see what the child needs, but we as humans are no super beings and a mother is no exception, she also requires that good night rest to be running around the child all day long.

Pampers are the ones doing the work of a mother, while a mother is sleeping. A good diaper not only ensures that the child is able to sleep well but also ensures that the child’s health is well taken care of and that the child is not falling prey to any kind of illness and diseases.

At a young age, children are generally prone to infections soon and ensuring that the child does not fall prey of such infections, a mother must keep the child well and take care of his or her hygiene. MY HEART PAINS

When I write this today, it of out of the pain and anxiety that my heart has from within and of course with a feeling which carries tons of emotions. You call it an emotional outburst or call it my way of dealing with things, I pen down my thoughts, because that is my way of letting go off things.

I was at the sea side this evening, with my family when I come across this small little girl, who is barley 2 and her sweet and innocent voice has got my attention, she screams out to me to buy the books that she is selling. I am zapped and look at her again, this time with more alertness and more closely, a 2 year old girl, well dressed, is selling books that she is ideally supposed to have and play with and design her thoughts upon. The cartoon characters that I was exposed to at her age, she is selling that only so that she can have a meal for one time, and I instantly decide to buy all her books. She runs to her mother and gives her the money. I wish to go up to her mother and question her for putting the young girl to such a painful childhood, yet I hold myself back, with the thought that there is little that we can do to give her proper meal for 2 times and that her mother is only doing so to ensure her survival and her daughter’s survival.

My eyes cannot move away from her, when I see her taking the ice cream cup from the dustbin and yet her eyes full of innocence gaze blankly at the candy shop. Her mother yells out to her; Ameena come back here and that little girl in all her innocence still holds on to the door of the candy shop. My heart felt the pain today, when I realized my pain is so little and so small in front of little ameena. I wish life was so easy and wish I could do more for her. I cannot sleep is all I can say, as the young girl is on my mind from the time she called out to me “Didi, please book le lo”….

QUIKR NXT

Quikr, it is! The one word to all your worries, you wonder why I am saying that. Well because Quikr is here, there and everywhere. From shopping to matrimony looking, from education to the gadget addiction, Quikr has its wings spread across and like a branch of a tree, Quikr is also here, with different features and different benefits to offer to each one of us. 

I have been using Quikr for quite a while now and also recommended the same to my family members, especially my Mother.I remember how upset she would get, each time we would call the local scrap dealer to our place to take away the old radio and video recorder sets, from old laptops to cupboards. She always used to get disheartened with the price the dealer would quote and very conveniently would say “Mam, this is all a waste now, what will you do with this, this price is fine”; with a very heavy heart my mother would discard the stuff and then later crib about how we gathered money to buy it then and now are selling it for dirt cheap price.

Off late she has also learnt to post my images on matrimony services offered by Quikr; (I wonder, why did I make her so tech-savy; or rather was it her strategy to learn all this and one day post me online :-P) 

So guys Quikr is a loyal and the most royal site that me and family have been using. I am sure many of you out there agree with this.And to add to the brand loyalty and increase its popularity, Quikr has come up with more features to woo its consumers and add to the list of new customers. Quikr is now here with a great feature, which is the Quikr NXT. I am all excited to use this feature of Quikr and experience what the company has to offer. But before I even use it, I genuinely want to applaud Quikr for its great initiative and going that extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction and on the competitor front a global transformation. Way to go Quikr, you truly deserve an applaud for this one! I am sure you all are question mark on this, as to why am I so content with this new initiative of Quikr, well folks I have all the valid reasons to and here is how it goes.

First and indeed the most impressive one, is that Quikr NXT gives you that option to ensure you have your privacy well maintained and that your number is not public to all creatures. This one is my personal favorite, especially being the counterpart of the males, this particular feature has given me that extra security that I need, to ensure I don’t have people calling and harassing me unnecessarily.

Next on my list is the Quikr Chat history, this one yet again deserves to be the second on my list. 

With growing work pressure and hardly any time to yourself, does one really get a chance to remember or recollect what conversation you have had with the callers whom you contact on Quikr. I am sure none of would have such a sharp memory or rather at least I don’t and I am thankful to Quikr NXT to listening to my plea. With the option of chat history I can now have access to price quotes and all chat conversations that I have had. I love this feature.

Last on my list, is the option that Quikr has given you or rather made you in position of power by enabling the Chat feature, is that you can contact buyers or sellers at a time of your convenience or rather from anywhere, because I am sure one can secretly chat even in the meeting room but will be questioned, if on a call outside the room. And so, with the Quikr NXT I can now contact my dealers on the move, without having those long conversations and increasing my phone bill.

These are a few of my personal favorite features of Quikr NXT. I would urge you all to stop getting fooled by your local scrap dealers, because they are doing you no good and with Quikr NXT at least it’s all good.
