QUIKR NXT

Quikr, it is! The one word to all your worries, you wonder why I am saying that. Well because Quikr is here, there and everywhere. From shopping to matrimony looking, from education to the gadget addiction, Quikr has its wings spread across and like a branch of a tree, Quikr is also here, with different features and different benefits to offer to each one of us.

I have been using Quikr for quite a while now and also recommended the same to my family members, especially my Mother.I remember how upset she would get, each time we would call the local scrap dealer to our place to take away the old radio and video recorder sets, from old laptops to cupboards. She always used to get disheartened with the price the dealer would quote and very conveniently would say “Mam, this is all a waste now, what will you do with this, this price is fine”; with a very heavy heart my mother would discard the stuff and then later crib about how we gathered money to buy it then and now are selling it for dirt cheap price.

All thanks to Quikr, my mother is now content with posting ads online and getting appropriate deals for the products that she wishes to discard. Off late she has also learnt to post my images on matrimony services offered by Quikr; (I wonder, why did I make her so tech-savy; or rather was it her strategy to learn all this and one day post me online :-P)

So guys Quikr is a loyal and the most royal site that me and family have been using. I am sure many of you out there agree with this. And to add to the brand loyalty and increase its popularity, Quikr has come up with more features to woo its consumers and add to the list of new customers. Quikr is now here with a great feature, which is the Quikr NXT. I am all excited to use this feature of Quikr and experience what the company has to offer. But before I even use it, I genuinely want to applaud Quikr for its great initiative and going that extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction and on the competitor front a global transformation. Way to go Quikr, you truly deserve an applaud for this one! I am sure you all are question mark on this, as to why am I so content with this new initiative of Quikr, well folks I have all the valid reasons to and here is how it goes.

First and indeed the most impressive one, is that Quikr NXT gives you that option to ensure you have your privacy well maintained and that your number is not public to all creatures. This one is my personal favorite, especially being the counterpart of the males, this particular feature has given me that extra security that I need, to ensure I don’t have people calling and harassing me unnecessarily.

Next on my list is the Quikr Chat history, this one yet again deserves to be the second on my list.
With growing work pressure and hardly any time to yourself, does one really get a chance to remember or recollect what conversation you have had with the callers whom you contact on Quikr. I am sure none of would have such a sharp memory or rather at least I don’t and I am thankful to Quikr NXT to listening to my plea. With the option of chat history I can now have access to price quotes and all chat conversations that I have had. I love this feature.

Last on my list, is the option that Quikr has given you or rather made you in position of power by enabling the Chat feature, is that you can contact buyers or sellers at a time of your convenience or rather from anywhere, because I am sure one can secretly chat even in the meeting room but will be questioned, if on a call outside the room. And so, with the Quikr NXT I can now contact my dealers on the move, without having those long conversations and increasing my phone bill.

These are a few of my personal favorite features of Quikr NXT. I would urge you all to stop getting fooled by your local scrap dealers, because they are doing you no good and with Quikr NXT at least it’s all good.

When it comes to doing things for yourself, how many times have you been put in situations where you are choosing between options, and how many times are you in a situation where you can choose just one and there isn’t any option for and. Well, personally I have come across such situations very frequently in life and rather at most critical phases of my life. Where my heart screams out to say wish I had both, but the situation demands me to choose and pick one, and put the other thing down. Such is the law of nature, is what my mother said, in such situations, and with this was attached a long and brief session of discussion, which goes on to say, you never get everything in life, and more so as a woman you have to sacrifice more than this.

To this, I just simply put on my earphones and pretend to be listen to her, not because I disrespect her, but just because our thoughts conflict and in such situations, it’s better not to drag conversations. I believe in doing things and achieving results, because sky is the limit for people who believe in themselves, and when sky is the limit, I am sure there is no gender discrimination here. I don’t agree with the fact that you have to choose between things in life and settle and compromise all the time. If one really desires something, one can attain it fighting all odds.

And so, the same applies to me and my personal life, when I was told to get into a profession soon after college and adding meaning to my life. Honestly back then I was so naïve to this and had not even thought of being in a corporate ever, because the passion for writing was flourishing within me and I always had things to write upon, but how many of us are allowed to make careers in such fields? Does the society let you grow? Do your own parents want you to do this or just like it when they see a 6 digit number in your bank account?

Well, I am sure you know the answer to this and hence I am here today to share with you a story not to tell you about what I had to let go in life or choose, but rather to tell you that never settle for things in life and choose between things. Here is my story folks, so well I am an HR professional, with appropriate certificates to back me up and ensure I sustain in the career for quite a while, but I wanted more to my life and did not just want to settle for a 9-6 job to myself and I knew what is that one thing that gives me that kind of satisfaction and completes me. And the answer to this was writing, as I told you my passion for writing was always there, but never got a chance to pursue that as a fulltime career and hence I never let that passion in me die, I rather let it grow within me each day, only so that one day I could be here I write to you about my story and life. Blogging is the first baby step that I have taken to fulfill my passion and will take more such steps to attain what I truly wanted to be, i.e. a Writer.

So folks, here is my little story, of how I did not settle for things in life and did not choose or, instead I made that or into an and, and here I am a mid-aged professional in HR and an aspiring writer. I hope my story inspires all you women out there, who have had to settle for things in life and are unable to pursue their true passion. Go women, empower yourself, because your empowerment will in turn empower our nation.

THINGS THAT DEFINE ME

This post is a part of #UseYourAnd activity at BlogAdda in association with Gillette Venus

Well, everything right from my dressing to my clothes pressing, from my cheek dimple to the forehead pimple, from my caring nature to my attractive and eye catchy feature, everything contributes equally to defining my personality and defining just me as a person.

So, when one asks me what defines me as a person, I simply answer; it’s me and entire personality, my very existence defines me, me being a woman defines me, me being a mother defines me, me being a housewife defines me, me being a sister , a wife, a friend to someone, all of this define me and my personality. Folks every little factor contributes to the making of (you); you as a person, you as a human being.

If I was to describe myself in one word, I would just say, that being a woman describes me the best, a woman of substance. We as woman go through so much in life, from a phase of being a daughter, to being a sister, from being a wife to a mother, aren’t all these phases of my life, enough to define me.

Yet again, if you ask this to any woman, she would answer this as simply, motherhood is the best thing that has happened to me and being a mother completes me as a person. And hence I would also go by the same saying   For me I am at a stage of my life, where I am still to experience all these phases of my life and I am looking forward to welcome each phase. Being at a home, where you see your mother managing everything so impeccably, I believe truly in being a reflection of my mother and being a woman of great substance, who can balance all her relations with utmost care and harmony. And this defines me!

GARNIER TAKES CARE

Pimple and instantly comes out a cry, no no way! Please go away and don’t every come another day! The pimple story is one such story that we have all been through and is not new to any one of us. And also the story has left behind some ugly memories behind. Why do these pimples ever have to occur? Is there no permanent solution to get rid of them?

I am sure, we all have tried all most all possible ways and remedies to get rid of the ugly pimples, and so badly wish we had those deep dimples instead. We have all been treated from the doctor at home to the doctor in rome; we have left no stone unturned to get rid of these ugly little creatures. No offence meant, but they are ugly and make you look all the more ugly, I want to show no sympathy to them by defining them or describing them with respect. They never did good to anyone and will never to good either.

And so people here I am today, penning it down all my frustration and anger that I have had for these pimples. They have created a war like hatred for themselves and should be treated with their own bitter medicine. But I have a question, which medicine works on them? Or rather can someone suggest me the correct medicine? Because I have given them all the bitter medicines, but they seem to be rigid to go away. Well, I have an answer to this, I want you to read on further to know the answer.

Before I tell you the correct medicine, I want to share with you the torture that I have faced all my life, literally all my life, because of these pimples, until I found the correct medicine. So I was exposed to these ugly creatures back in my teenage days, when puberty is at its peak and as they say, there is nothing to freak, for this is part of growing and not glowing! I let time pass and let myself grow with the pimples on my face, but they also seem to be growing with my growing age. This gave me a signal of worry and an alarm bell rung loud this time. So, I was all set and prepared and excited for my sister’s wedding, ignoring the pimples and rather focusing on the loud jingles. It was a week before the wedding I realized, that one of my dresses looked good, and the only thing hampering my look were the pimples on my face. I decided to do something and something that would help me get rid of them forever. For I cannot have pimple all over my face on my sister’s wedding, I cannot have the photographs with the pimples and have the rest of the family laugh with their dimples. And so very randomly I was on the internet one night, and there was this new product launch my Garnier, which caught my attention.

Garnier, has always been a loyal brand to my family, my sister always used all its products from the sunscreen to the BB cream, but I always had my apprehensions to try any and aggravate my problem and so never bothered to buy any products for self-use. It was only this one night, when the lightning struck and I decided to get the Garnier pure active neem face wash the next morning. I am not going to say, it did all the magic in one day and that all my pimples were vanished.
But eventually the magic happened and happened over time and regular use. I saw my pimples reducing and the redness diminishing with regular use and thankfully my wedding photographs were not that bad. I have been using Garnier since then and trust me, it has only done wonders to my skin, my skin does not become dry either, like it used to with use of other products. My skin looks normal and I also see my marks reducing. I am now able to use other products of the brand as well, to protect my skin for aging. Garnier is now a loyal brand to me as well and my personal favorite and truly recommended.

The brand ensures it includes use of natural extracts in its product; so that there is minimal exposure of the skin to the harmful chemical based products. The brand truly lives by its saying “Garnier Take care” and believes in making the product consumer friendly. So, guys this is the correct medicine for all your pimple problems! Take care is all I will say to end this.

CUPID GAMES 2015

Love, and the celebration of love begins with Valentine’s Day. While some places allow you to freely celebrate this celebration of love, while the others try to impose restriction as much as they can. They restrict the free expression of the most purest feeling of human life. They call it by the name of Valentine’s Day and I simply call it love.

I wonder sometimes though, that do we really need to celebrate the feeling of love only on this particular day and yes comes the answer instantly. Not because we are short of days, but only because this day holds that special significance and history is to be blamed for this.
The day, begins with colors of red and pink for all, for the ones who are in love, they need no cloth to color them red, as they naturally glow with the color in red. The color which symbolizes love. From colleges to work places, from streets to the gift galleries, one sees the spirit of love at all-time high on this day.

Well, with this I must confess that my feelings are also at all-time high this year as I am going to be proposing to my crush this Valentine. I have a few things planned for her specially and not something huge is what I will say. My idea comes from the typical romantic movies and also considering the fact that my crush is a huge romantic movie buff. Keeping all this in mind, I have planned a date on a roof top terrace of a restaurant for the two of us, where I am going to have the DJ play her favorite song. This will be then followed by a chariot ride at the gateway and this is where I am going to go down on my knees and pull out a ring for her. Although I may get a little squeezed there, considering my height and weight and the narrow chariot cage, but I cannot think of anything more romantic than this, which is straight out of a romantic movie.

So, this is what I have planned for my crush this Valentine and am truly nervous about this. They say Pyaar Kiya toh Darna kya and so do I, because guys love is not a feeling to hide, it is rather that phase of your life, where everything seems to be perfect. The reason being because love is such a pure feeling and such a strong emotion. An emotion that can even kill hatred and win over the sad hearts.

All I can say is, this Valentine let your true feelings out and enjoy the most romantic and best phase of your life with your loved one. Because Pyaar Kiya toh Darna kya!

THE GREAT INDIAN LITTERBUG

There are those who do good and get famous while there a few who are of no good. Well it’s up to you; it’s left for you to decide that how would you like to be remembered, the villain in the story or that hero who gets the princess? Because when you are gone all that you leave behind is just a show.
This is a tale of this bad guy, Mr. Litterbug. Although he did no good he is still referred to as The Great Indian Litterbug. Now this man in the literal sense was of no good. All he actually did was littered here and there. Looks like the bits of paper on the ground didn’t seem to make the place untidy for him.
Even as a kid, he never recited this poem correctly. He went on like “Bits of paper, bits of paper laying on the ground makes the place tidy.” The teachers thought it was a mistake but well today we understand that it was not just a mistake but a mission, a secret mission indeed. Not just that but words like Cleanliness and Tidy meant nothing to him and they still don’t. This mission of the great Indian Litterbug gained momentum. Like how Sallu’s Dabang step, his spitting and littering also became famous. He is today a bigger star than even Salman Khan.  People might not admit but in their actions they all copy this great man, The Great Indian Litterbug.
Well well the newly elected Prime Minister won’t let this happen. He is the current trending topic and he will not let anybody take that place. He has made plans to defeat the Great Indian Litterbug. It is this movement- Swach Bharat Abhyan. With this the Prime Minister wants to eradicate the very presence of the Great Indian Litterbug from the hearts and minds of all Indians. To an extent that he even called Sallu to take part in this move.
But wait; hear what The Great Indian Litterbug has to say! I pledge to dirty all roads. I pledge to dirty all walls. Let there be left no wall tidy and no road clean. Not a corner without the tobacco spits and not a nook without that packet of chips.
Worried is the Nation. Taking charge is our Government. This has to stop is what swears the entire Nation. But how is what is the real question? Definitely not by one man army, definitely not even the police constables who fine for littering on the road continue to spit on the same and not until the Great Indian Litterbug continues to rule the hearts and minds of Indians.

Pledge for a cleaner India and a better India. This post is a part of the Times of India Campaign in association with IndiBlogger. Here is the link - http://greatindian.timesofindia.com/

A HEALTHY CHILD MAKES A HAPPY HOME

A Healthy child makes a happy home

One definitely relates to the great saying, home is where the house is. And what makes our home a house, is undoubtedly our children. Children are the truest and the most innocent creation of god on this planet. When it comes to children everything about them is so innocent and so pure that one cannot afford to have any kind of adulteration of mixture to it. Similarly it comes to the health of our little ones, why should we compromise on the most essential requirement of our child?

I am sure, we as mothers or elders, want to ensure the best of everything for our little ones and let me tell you it starts with the most basic, which is their health. Given the proper amount of nutrition’s and diet, a child grows well and remains healthy. Not just that but every little happening of a child’s life affects their parent. Take this simple example of exams, it’s more like the Mother is giving the exam and not the Child. I remember when I was in school and when my Mother used to take up my lessons, she taught me as though my learning was the only thing that mattered and she taught me with all her heart and her mind.

Talking about health, it is the most important thing. There goes this saying that Health is Wealth. Not just for a child but for everybody, health is very important. Child’s health is given utmost importance, the reason being that those are the growing years of a child and a good immune system now will make a better immune later. Also, a child’s health matters the most to a Mother because it is the mother who lives through the child. Haven’t you heard the saying, “A child gives birth to a Mother.” This statement is true in every aspect. As a small foetus grows to a child and a child gives birth to a Mother.

Why does one say that a health child brings happiness to home? Simply because it is a child who brings life to a house and makes the four walls of a house, a home. A child’s laughter brings joy to the entire family. A child’s sorrow is a moment of grief for all. Not just that but also a healthy child reflects the upbringing of a child. Upbringing of a child just doesn't involve clothing or shelter but it largely comprises of a healthy eating, a healthy living and ultimately a healthy environment.

The more nutritious is the intake of a child, the more it keeps the child physically and mentally fit. With Dabur Chyawanprash immunity of a child is well taken care of by a healthy intake of all the necessary nutrients that a child requires. Giving a child 3 times more immunity.

WE ARE CELEBRATING!

Yes, celebration or what plans were the only two things that I heard towards the end of the year. Because after all we are humans right, we let go off things. Think again! Or is it that we let off things that don’t affect us in any manner directly? The bitter truth it is! Yes we are living in a society where nothing is for free, and that we are here only to protect ourselves and our loved ones. There exists no place for humanity in our society.

Guys, are we dying each day? Are human beings so selfish and cruel that they cannot think of anybody apart than themselves? Is the human inside us dying and we not treating it by visiting the doctor? I just get one answer to all these questions, well yes humanity is not dead still, it is hidden there deep inside us , just that we need to be able to pull it out an get it in the open, but I see some resistance there. Resistance and fear at the same time, for people taking advantage of your god side and ruining you.

But I still say, don’t let the human inside you die. We need this in our society, as only few of us have this oxygen mask left and cannot let it go away. Remember if this dies, the world will come crashing down, for there will be no respect for each other’s feelings, emotions, religions, etc.  Those few of you who have it out there, please listen to my plea and don’t let humanity die.

You are wondering now, what makes me cry with the humanity song so much and why am I placing emphasis on not letting it die. I have an answer to your question and the answer is this that, we humans have become so selfish and have gone so ahead in winning the dog’s race that we are here only to pull each one down and that there is no space for a person who does not belong to you.
I witness this everywhere, from schools to colleges, from work place to social gatherings, from temples to medical centers, the discrimination is seen in the open and with no shame. After all this trouble that is prevailing in our society, we are yet celebrating and finding a reason to celebrate. What for is my question? Celebration of being divided with religion boundaries, celebration of brutal killings of the innocent children in Pakistan, celebration of a women being raped.

Wake up people, what are we celebrating for? Question this to yourself and give me one valid reason why should you celebrate New Year? I know it’s gone and is passé and that my blog post holds no relevance now, however my freedom to expression is still alive and I will do that till I cannot awaken my society. Guys, lets feel the pain of a mother who is at the graveyard holding her only hope and child’s body, lets feel the pain of a girl, who was out with her friends to party, but did not know that she will be roped by a gang of men and be raped there in the open, lets again feel the pain of an orphan child who has lost both his parents in a bomb blast. I say feel the pain and feel it to an extent where you witness the drops that roll down your cheeks or till you are chocked and have nothing to speak.

For some the year 2015 marked the millennium year, while for others it gave nothing but just another fear. While some of us look at the year with full of opportunities and reasons of joy, while the others still live with the brutal killing of the boy.

I am not trying to be pessimistic or negative as I many sound, all I am trying to create is a reason to celebrate, as it is still not found.

MY EYES

My eyes witness it all. Ever wondered what your eyes go through each day. Finding this lame, isn’t it? Well, think again; the amount of stress your eyes go through each day and the memory of these two small button like thing is amazing. It makes you reflect upon all your deeds, from good to bad.
It has the capability of taking you back to those memories of school and college days and yet get you back to the real morning rays. From Nagaland to England they can take you to those deep memory lanes and blank gaze.

They witness everything from boredom to torture, from living to dying, from witnessing the birth of a new born to the death of an old one. Have you ever thought, the pain that your eyes hold? The realization came in late to me as well, and the day I realized the pain and grief of my eyes, I decided to pen it down. Not to sound lame or insane, but only to give you that vision that there is something there, deep down inside you that is witness of all you do and see every day.

They cannot scream out and express their pain, and hence say it all through a medium of rain. Rain that occurs when they are hurt and your heart is paining. This rain occurs rarely for few of us, while drops down frequently for the rest of us.

For they say it, that your eyes say it all. From your feelings to emotions, from your pain to grief, from your broken heart to eating the lemon tart. They say and speak a language that is understood by all, irrespective of what religion, caste or creed you belong to; they say” Your eyes speak a lot”!
Well, in that case, I have a question to ask, if my eyes said it all, why is it sometimes my words are considered and given more importance than what my eyes are saying. Why is it that I still see, a young teenager crying in pain, for her loved one did not identify the language she spoke in the rain. Why is that there is still brutal killing and irrational living? For the poor are still suffering and the rich are still dominating. Why is that no one can read those eyes, eyes that are asking for a proper meal and I am sure it is not such a big deal.

Why is that my country is still flourishing with corruption and unable to identify the greedy eyes? Why is that women are still considered weaker to men, even after holding a 49% share. I am going off the topic, but certainly I don’t care, as I am speaking a language that I understood by all and it is only because I am hurt, and can do little, and so I am penning it down.

My eyes are tired now, they need some rest, because each day they are put to a different test. They have their own needs, they only ask for peace and harmony as they are tired of witnessing the dirty game of hypocrisy. They don’t demand of exotic outdoor locations, all they need is some relaxing moments.

From pollution to corruption, from no where to somewhere let me tell confess to you my dear eyes, you are my sole companion in this journey what they call it life. Without you, I would not be able to witness the beauty of nature and the god given creature. Now that I have realized your significance in my life, I promise to take care of you and protect you from bad omens; for I now you have little time in this world and want to see you off with all the happiness.

THE FASHION RAMP WALK

It is the fashion ramp walk, indeed a ramp walk for all types of creatures on our planet. I am sure most of us have had an easy access to this show without having to plead for a paper ticket. Nor do we really need a good contact as they call it “To have you in the guest list”. This is one place where fashion rises above the floral prints and neon pinks.

Well, to get you all out of the thinking zone, let me cut short this and break the suspense of this place. So guys I am referring to our one and only zone, where the security is at all-time high and where birds are not allowed to fly. The home for all aero planes and where fashion has no names. Yes I am referring to our very own Havi Adda.

Most of you are confused and want to switch tabs but hold on there. I am here with an explanation to this and will give you all to a ticket that you have missed. Why would someone even refer to the Airport as a Fashion Ramp Walk, Insane isn’t it?

Well, you need a mind and a mind that can cross all odds and can think beyond the rigid bars. I don’t mean to offend anyone though, but yes it does need a mind of that kind. My thinking hat was on while I was at the Airport on my recent visit to pick up my sister. As usual one reaches well in time to the airports to ensure you capture every moment of joy and excitement to see the person after long, and also because they are more clean. (Hope the railway authorities are reading this), so well I was also one of those excited relatives waiting to see my sister on the very first day of 2015.

While I wait there looking out for my sister, my eyes are able to capture fashion of all kinds. I see women dressed in skirts and shirts. The trendy jackets are out as the winter breeze has had its coverage on the Asian planet. My eyes gage out to see the lovely red that sticks well to the lips of the lady with a long head. Yet again my eyes are all set on the young girl, who has just returned from a trip with her friends. I see each one of them speaking different language. A language of fashion and well learnt fashion sense.

A well-built tall guy walks the passage that connects the Airport Exit to the waiting zone for the relatives. He is charming and looks fresh with a slight stub and White Shirt that goes well with the Dark Denims down there. I wonder to myself, if fashion is all about glam and glitter or is it just being yourself.

I gaze at the flight attendants who walk together in a group, my eyes move from one to the other, still wanting to understand who looks the best. Yet again they showcase a fashion in the yellow and navy blue uniform. I call it the fashion ramp walk because my eyes have witnessed everything from jumpers to cargos, from mini – skirts to vase coats, from White shirt heroes to shinny glittery zeroes.

They walk with this little bit of attitude and failing to understand that the relatives out there are losing the waiting period magnitude. All I can say is that this 40 minutes of waiting for my sister has made my little brain to do the working and got me to blogging and I would appreciate if you can all do the liking and appreciate my writing. (:-P Trying too hard to rhyme….)

Well, guys this is my view of how one can make efficient use of time even at the most boring places sometimes and how waiting for someone can turn into a live show of glamour and glitter.
