Reliance Meet

The reliance retirement fund meet was held on the 6^th of June. It was such a nice event. It taught me so many things that I used to take for granted in the past. We bloggers bonded well and took home not just memories but great learnings.

We learnt at the meet that saving is very important and also of the many ways through which we can save and grow our money. All this while we thought that we were to work for money but at the event we were taught as to how money can work for us.

There are so many ways in which we can save money. Right from fixed deposits at the bank to mutual funds and various other investment plans. The idea of the meet was to invest in one such plan that can help you secure your future.

There was also one calculator which helped us to understand the amount that we will need to save and what we saw was that on an average, going as per the current inflation rate somebody who spends 25000 a month will have to save a minimum of 3000 every month if he or she plans to retire at the age of 55 in order to retain the same lifestyle. So this requires planning. Planning for a better tomorrow.

It was a very informative meet as we got to know of the need to save money or rather invest money and make it grow for us.

Love in another religion?

 Love, what is the true meaning of the word. In the purest form what I understand it is to care for someone and to give your 100% for the person, it is unconditional in every manner. That’s how pure love is!

They say we must love one and all, we are taught this right from the time we are born. Love each and every creation of God, right from humans to animals to plants to the mother earth. Sorry, guess I forgot to add a clause there, did I? When it comes to loving humans, did I not mention in bold, love within your people. Confused aren’t you? So am I!

Folks we were taught this by our very own parents and teachers and all relatives, love humans, and hold no grudge or feeling of hatred against any, but why is that I still feel my parents did not mention the hidden clause when they explained this to me, or why didn’t they tell me love can happen only within the same community or in the broader aspect within the same religion. We say we have moved away from the religion bias society and that we are adopting the western culture, but somewhere deep down there, shake yourself and ask, have we really done that? Don’t we still have our jaw drop when we hear a Hindu neighbor marrying a Muslim? Or a Parsi marrying a Catholic? Why was the question even then and even now!

I was taught in school that we are all Indians, yes we have different religions and cultures in our country just to add diversity and not division within people of the same country. I was told for there is just one god in the world, and all I must do is still respect other religions for we are children of the same mother and just our style and methods of worshiping the god are different. Was this all just a lie? Have I spent 25 years of my life in a lie and living with people of dual standards?

I am ashamed today, as we humans are so selfish and so pathetic in our deeds that we are slowly killing humanity with religion bias. I asked my mother today, Mom what if I love someone who is from another religion, and a flat answer I get is no. the justification was its important you marry people who are your own and within your community, I immediately question back, Mom but I was told to only love, I was never told that there is a hidden clause to loving. To which I get a mock and she walks off, because I pissed her off.

Why can we not accept the fact that we are hypocrites and that we are dual standard individuals who can never think above religion and community. Love holds no value in this urban society where people are divided in the name of god and religion.

My question still goes unanswered, is loving in another religion acceptable?

It is very different from all the leagues that we have heard of like EPL, IPL, etc. Well in both these if you play with all your heart you win, isn’t that true? We have all heard people saying play with all your heart you shall win, play with full determination and what not. However with this new league that Kapil Dev is to start it is different. He says that this one unlike the others is not to be played with your heart.

I am very anxious to know what this new league is all about. One thing that is certain is that there will be a lot of celebrity talks happening in the show. We have the very legendary Kapil Dev to do this show, it is sure to have a lot of celebrities. It goes without saying that it will be too much fun to watch this show because when they are celebrities there is a lot of entertainment.

I am wondering what the format of the show can be? It says that you will be bowled out if you play with your heart. I think it could be this show where Kapil Dev would call big celebrities and make them do things that they haven’t done before, by that I mean different from the things that they are famous for. Like imagine Dhoni cooking, Sanjeev Kapoor playing cricket, Saina boxing and Marry Kom playing badminton. They surely won’t be using their hearts there because their roles would be interchanged. Cricket is not something that Sanjeev Kapoor masters at and cooking might not be Dhoni’s genre. It would be fun to watch them play reverse roles. Similarly for Saina Nehwal and Marry Kom. We get to see cricketers in advertisement and acting also of late but we don’t get to see them in cooking shows or dancing shows or singing for that matter.

The Indian audience is pretty crazy, no offense intended. If we love something or someone we go mad about it. We want to know all about it. We want to know more about it and a format like that would be catering masses. Picking up celebrities from the field of cricket, tennis, swimming, boxing, dancing, cooking, etc and reversing their roles to watch how they play when they don’t play a sport or do a thing that has got their heart would be hell lot of fun in my opinion.

The Power of Two

Together we can and together we will, haven’t we all heard of this saying? There is no fun in doing things alone. When you have somebody with you who is as crazy as you, it’s a totally different experience altogether. Well not always are we lucky enough to find somebody who is just like you but I have been fortunate in this case.

Together with someone you can achieve a lot more than what you could have alone. A companion, a friend or a mentor is needed by one and all. The power of two can change a lot of things, it can make anything #TwiceAsNice.

Say if are to go to mall wouldn’t we like we got the bag that we liked from Gucci along with that top from Zara? Wouldn’t we like to have some Coke with Pizza? Together with something is always better. It makes that thing twice as nice. In this case bag and a top would make for a complete attire and the latter for a complete meal. Now do you see the power of two?
