Khul Ke Khelo Holi

When one talks about festival, the first word that comes to my mind is family! Any festival without your family is no fun, no celebration or rather very dull. I am sure many people might oppose my view however personally for me that’s how it is! I am a person who loves celebrating all festivals and occasions, I hold no discrimination or don’t hold back myself from celebrating Diwali, Holi, Ramadan, Christmas or any other festival.

To me each festival is more time with family and friends and more togetherness. I enjoy every moment I spend during such occasions, as it is one such time or period where everyone forgets all their sorrows and indulges in the spirit of festivity. It is that time of the year again where we wish to forget all our worries and differences and look forward to celebrate a festival full of joy and happiness.

Yes folks, it’s time for Happy Holi! The festival of colours and pichkari’s. A festival full of life and togetherness. Since childhood I have always loved playing with colours and that’s one reason why I love the festival so much. I believe colours bring in a lot of positivity and good vibes. Each colour has its own significance and presence. Each colour spreads more move and more joy.

Besides, India being a country which has the world’s largest democracy where people of all different cast, creed and religion exist and live together in the land where there is equality and place for all. Indians have always been ahead in hospitality and that’s the main reason why we see India celebrating so many festivals and cultures. Being born and bought up in this multi-cultural environment I have always loved every festival. Having said that each festival also calls for more and more sweets and delicacies. This year too I plan to celebrate my holi with my loved ones, ensuring playing a safe holi.

Let me share one such memorable holi year where I was out on the roads and the beach, screaming it out to the world, Khul Ke Khelo Holi! It was during my 10^th standard board exams where we got a break for holi in between the exams, having said that, the best way to take that break was by celebrating and making the best of the festival. So well, me and my friends decided to start off with the usual throwing of colours, of course by keeping in mind the normal oiling of the hair as a precaution. After the throwing of colours was over, we straight away decided to head towards this pool party which was happening near the beach and had awesome music.

We being a little high on the holi ka bhang, made full use of the pool party and just crashed the party. It was one such holi that I would never forget, the amazing music, the innocence of crashing into a party, the bhang and just being a free spirit. Of course we were totally safe and got back home to get back to the study mode, but this is one holi where I totally left myself loose and felt amazing just being there in the open and celebrating the occasion with full spirit. That was my Khul Ke Khelo Holi! I look forward to such craziness this year too! Wishing you all a very happy Khul Ke Khelo Holi celebration.

OFFICE BONDS

This one is dedicated to all my office besties or rather should I just say besties. I mean why tag them as only office besties because they have been there beyond the office cubicles. Well, they say one cannot make friends at office or colleagues at work place are only there because of work and that one must disclose nothing to them about yourself or the real you.

They also say never open all your cards in the open before your office colleagues. Cards?? Seriously, I mean are we playing TEEN PATI or are we discussing my Janam Patri! Well, I personally never understood the concept of keeping a dual personality as they call. I am who I am and if people accept me the way I am then fine else they are free to walk out of my life and so I always believed and still believe in the concept of being myself and keeping myself open to meeting new people and making new friend even if it is meant to be the most bitchy place.

Well as I promised, this post is dedicated to my besties whom I met at my work place, I will strictly stick to that and tell you more about how it all started and how we developed a bond that they call friendship! It was my first day at work and I was very easily and openly accepted by Charlies Angel’s! From lunch breaks to after lunch walks we just blended very well and I was soon one of the angels of the group. :-P

While few moved on to other work assignment the rest still remained intact and in fact the bond between us just grew stronger by each passing day. Lunch was now at Tiffins and spontaneous delivery orders from Theobroma’s. The office time out sessions were the best for us to spend more time after work and indulge in some selfies.

By now Charlies Angels were dropping in number and we soon became PJS, Pakao Jokes as what some may call it. We have our own reasons for the group name, which is better undisclosed at this platform. PJS didn’t grow in number but the bond in them was like never before. They changed the definition of work colleagues and became a gossip among the tinsel town of office.

We tagged around after office for movies, to shopping to instant lunch plans, to random coffee shop conversations. And this just made PJS more and more stronger in their unity. We literally felt the pain of each other, if one was down the other would make sure they do all to cheer. We sang to each other, the kiddish talks, the washroom gossips, the endless selfies, the poses. The list was long….

Well, to cut short my post, as I can go on writing about PJS and their bond. I would just say, PJS’s has now parted ways to move for better prospects but the friendship that grew within the office has moved beyond the horizons and glass doors of office. Because we have now made what they call in the truest form FRIENDSHIP.

PJS – I love you guys for all your support! You have been the greatest strength at work! And this post is a small dedication to our long live friendship!

Well, the event powered by Max Life Insurance was truly a big hit and totally amazing. Right from the organization of the event to the arrangement of participants and jury. The event was outstanding! The event known as the I Genius young singing starts season II was a great initiative by Max Life Insurance to promote talent and also recognize the talent on a public platform. The association of two large and renowned organizations coming together and organizing such events is a great boost to the young talent of our country.

Post the huge hit and success story of season I, the company planned to launch this event yet again and came up with season II to create yet another hit story. The programme attracted total of more than two lakh fifty thousand participants this year too across India and works as a great guiding source for children and young minds of the age group between 4-15 years. The organization of such events truly reflects the social responsibility of Max Life Insurance where they are ready to invest in talent and young minds of the future.

I personally loved and thoroughly enjoyed the performance of all the young dynamites who did an amazing job at this young age. The confidence level of these dynamites was sky high and clearly shows the talent our country has. Besides the jury was commendable with renowned members of our Industry like Salim Merchant and Shraddha Sharma. A big applause to the jury to make such a tough call and have winners in front of us, because it truly is a task to dishearten or judge among such young talents where all of them are amazingly outstanding.

To conclude my experience I would just say the event was a great initiative by Max Life Insurance and Universal Music India where they decided to promote the young talents and offered them a great platform for their first break.

When it comes to the happiness of my loved ones, infinity is the limit till where I can reach or aim at reaching to ensure their happiness or a smile on their face. I am sure it is the same for all of us, as our loved ones and family is what we live for and love to do things for. In my family I am closest to my younger sister and wish to give her all the happiness that she deserves and wish to fulfil every wish of hers, and so it goes without saying that she is the most pampered by me in every aspect, Be it Showroom shopping to Street Hoping, we do it all together. And so there is no exception to food. Food being our source of living or rather the only hope for living.

I would be more than willing to use a quick and rather easy method to get away with her demand when it comes upon me, given the fact that I am lazy too. But Nevertheless, I enjoy cooking for her some yummy and different food, which is not just yummy in taste but also healthy to the tummy. The moment I hear the word togetherness, I think that the real essence of togetherness is lost in the modern society. Blame it on the mobile phones, laptops, IPad and the list goes on or blame it on the influence of the western culture that the entire concept of togetherness is lost.

There are hardly times when we think of having a get- together with family as we are so busy with work and our social life that we do not think it’s important to connect with family anymore. When I got an opportunity to pen down my thoughts on real togetherness, prompt came this idea of spending time with my family on some hill station in the arms of Mother Nature.

This in my opinion is a superb way in which we can all bond together and stay away from all the hustles of the city life and also when I tell this idea to my family I will make sure that everybody decides to keep their phones and all their gadgets back at home. I would strictly tell of them to not carry any of it as according to me it spoils the idea of togetherness. This is because we all get lost in the technological world and then we are not able to give time, and I mean quality time to each other.

Well, I plan to take this time of togetherness and so called vacation break this Diwali, where I plan to go away from the city lights and the artificial decorations, because I believe in celebrating this time with my family on a beautiful hill station, where the natural day light will be our Diwali lights and the bird songs will be the Diwali crackers. I personally am a nature loving person, and I believe there is nothing more beautiful than the beauty of the almighty.

We plan to go to this place with my family, where we will indulge in some fun activities that we never get a chance to do in our busy work schedules. Right from Mountain Climbing to River Rafting, it is all going to be part of our plan. The reason why we also chose Diwali as an occasion to take this trip is because, well we will live a society where we cannot afford of take vacations and leaves from work. And hence this time of the year felt the perfect time to do it. With my Mom’s home-made food to long night train travels it will all be a fun trip, where the real essence of togetherness and love will be cherished. Times like these always bring in more love and joy in the family where we truly connect to each other. Well, this is my little contribution towards planning a time of real togetherness with my family.

The Path of Zarathustra

Inspirational, well this was the first word that came to my mind immediately after watching the movie. The movie totally inspired me in every aspect. It took me back to history of Parsi’s. The real essence of Parsi religion and what does it comprise of. The movie was well directed and put across the aspect of depleting Parsi community in the world. It spoke about religion, which is a topic of debate in the modern world, where the younger generation do not believe in the old myths of religion and wish to believe in what they can read and rationalize with. The movie well serves the purpose for these youngsters to learn and understand the true inception of Parsi’s.

The start of the movie spoke about how this young girl living with her grandfather is away from all the worldly things and is wanting to live the rest of the life with her grandfather in a faraway village, away from all the motion and commotion of the world. As the movie unfolds, we see that the girl now moves to her aunt’s house in the busiest metro of our country, Mumbai. She does so, as she makes a promise to her dying grandfather, to get back to the world and find out more about the Parsi community and the religion. She comes to Mumbai, with this one book given to her by her grandfather, who promised her that the book will unfold itself once she is with the people she is supposed to be with, her own people, her community, and her religion.

Well, so on goes the story of this girl, where she meets different people and tries to question them more and more about religion. As she goes around meeting these people, the story explains the audiences about the few and most important pillars of the religion and its inception. The story also puts light to a few ancient day laws set by the Parsi community which need to be changed and removed in order to survive in the modern lifestyle. One such example was the marriage of Parsi woman in another religion.

And so, many such aspects were bought to light with the help of this movie. We could enjoy a nice tour to the lives of many Parsi’s out there by understanding their daily environment, the real essence of the fire temple and many more. In order to conclude I would just say that the movie did complete justice in explaining the Parsi community and its inception. It was well directed and all characters in the movie just fitted in well. In all it was a movie with great inspirational message to the audiences. Look forward to more great work by such young directors to inspire the youth of the country.

Eat healthy and stay fit. We hear or say this quite often but how many of us actually implement this? Eating right in order to stay healthy is very important. It is crucial that we eat good food and in the appropriate quantity that will help our body to stay fit and healthy at all times.

Easier said than done. These days everybody is so busy with work and other things that we happen to miss out on things like these which in the long run can affect our body system. Take for example the ban on noodles and Chinese food outside schools, all this while we knew that eating junk is unhealthy but we still continued eating. Only when we got to know that the MSG present leads to laziness and acts like a slow poison did we give up on that junk. Unless we are shaken up we did not realize the effect of junk food on our bodies.

We all just pick up food and eat it to fill our stomachs. We do not think about the long run effects it can have on our bodies. The trend amongst the college students is to pick up any food only for the sake of taste without thinking about whether it is good for you or not.

If we eat too much of junk food and too often we not only become lazy but also get tired very easily. Thus eating right is very important. The craze amongst young girls to become thin is a lot and that’s why many a times they take up crash dieting. Crash dieting can have adverse effects on once body. Our body is used to certain routine. It works like a machine, it similar to a machine needs food in certain intervals. Crash dieting is contrary to this need of the body. Crash dieting might show results for a meanwhile but ultimately it is bad for our body system.

Eating a balanced diet is the right thing to do. Avoid junk food and then you do not even have to take to crash dieting. Reliance Meet

The reliance retirement fund meet was held on the 6^th of June. It was such a nice event. It taught me so many things that I used to take for granted in the past. We bloggers bonded well and took home not just memories but great learnings.

We learnt at the meet that saving is very important and also of the many ways through which we can save and grow our money. All this while we thought that we were to work for money but at the event we were taught as to how money can work for us.

There are so many ways in which we can save money. Right from fixed deposits at the bank to mutual funds and various other investment plans. The idea of the meet was to invest in one such plan that can help you secure your future.

There was also one calculator which helped us to understand the amount that we will need to save and what we saw was that on an average, going as per the current inflation rate somebody who spends 25000 a month will have to save a minimum of 3000 every month if he or she plans to retire at the age of 55 in order to retain the same lifestyle. So this requires planning. Planning for a better tomorrow.

It was a very informative meet as we got to know of the need to save money or rather invest money and make it grow for us.

 Love, what is the true meaning of the word. In the purest form what I understand it is to care for someone and to give your 100% for the person, it is unconditional in every manner. That’s how pure love is!

They say we must love one and all, we are taught this right from the time we are born. Love each and every creation of God, right from humans to animals to plants to the mother earth. Sorry, guess I forgot to add a clause there, did I? When it comes to loving humans, did I not mention in bold, love within your people. Confused aren’t you? So am I!

Folks we were taught this by our very own parents and teachers and all relatives, love humans, and hold no grudge or feeling of hatred against any, but why is that I still feel my parents did not mention the hidden clause when they explained this to me, or why didn’t they tell me love can happen only within the same community or in the broader aspect within the same religion. We say we have moved away from the religion bias society and that we are adopting the western culture, but somewhere deep down there, shake yourself and ask, have we really done that? Don’t we still have our jaw drop when we hear a Hindu neighbor marrying a Muslim? Or a Parsi marrying a Catholic? Why was the question even then and even now!

I was taught in school that we are all Indians, yes we have different religions and cultures in our country just to add diversity and not division within people of the same country. I was told for there is just one god in the world, and all I must do is still respect other religions for we are children of the same mother and just our style and methods of worshiping the god are different. Was this all just a lie? Have I spent 25 years of my life in a lie and living with people of dual standards?

I am ashamed today, as we humans are so selfish and so pathetic in our deeds that we are slowly killing humanity with religion bias. I asked my mother today, Mom what if I love someone who is from another religion, and a flat answer I get is no. the justification was its important you marry people who are your own and within your community, I immediately question back, Mom but I was told to only love, I was never told that there is a hidden clause to loving. To which I get a mock and she walks off, because I pissed her off.

Why can we not accept the fact that we are hypocrites and that we are dual standard individuals who can never think above religion and community. Love holds no value in this urban society where people are divided in the name of god and religion.

My question still goes unanswered, is loving in another religion acceptable?

The Indian audience is pretty crazy, no offense intended. If we love something or someone we go mad about it. We want to know all about it. We want to know more about it and a format like that would be catering masses. Picking up celebrities from the field of cricket, tennis, swimming, boxing, dancing, cooking, etc and reversing their roles to watch how they play when they don’t play a sport or do a thing that has got their heart would be hell lot of fun in my opinion.

The Power of Two

Together we can and together we will, haven’t we all heard of this saying? There is no fun in doing things alone. When you have somebody with you who is as crazy as you, it’s a totally different experience altogether. Well not always are we lucky enough to find somebody who is just like you but I have been fortunate in this case.

Together with someone you can achieve a lot more than what you could have alone. A companion, a friend or a mentor is needed by one and all. The power of two can change a lot of things, it can make anything #TwiceAsNice.

Say if are to go to mall wouldn’t we like we got the bag that we liked from Gucci along with that top from Zara? Wouldn’t we like to have some Coke with Pizza? Together with something is always better. It makes that thing twice as nice. In this case bag and a top would make for a complete attire and the latter for a complete meal. Now do you see the power of two?

Nakhare Wala Nashta

Nakhare Wala Nashta it is for me at Guptaji’s place. Well I am
a food lover and I can eat almost at any time of the day without any regrets of
putting on those extra calories. I am a person who loves food to an extent that
I can literally get into an argument or fight with someone for my food, well
that is how crazy I am about food. Being a food lover is no harm and one must
appreciate all types of food, as it is a creation of someone genius for sure,
and what better way than having to eat it! With the fact of accepting the title
of being a food hogger and Bukhad as they call me sweetly in my group, I must
also accept that I ensure that eat some healthy food as well. As much as I much
and die of junk food and all the road side food, I also ensure I give my body
the required nutrients by enjoying and relishing on some healthy food. Be it my
early morning breakfast or my evening time snacks, I ensure I take on to some
healthy food.

My idea of food has always been having spicy yet tasty food
and hence my preference and my selection or rather to say it in a better
manner, to self-invite myself to Gupta Ji’s place would be to have the Nakhre
Wala Nashta. Well now this sounds so much like me and matches so well to my
personality as well. That is just one reason for me to go to Gupta Ji’s place
but rather the most important one is because the recipe of the Nashta has all
the ingredients that I love the most. To name the Nakhre Wala Nashta better, we
call it the Chapatti Cornflakes Chivda. I am not at all a sweet lover and hence
I completely love this one. The Chapatti Cornflakes Chivda has a proper mix of
all spices like the green chilli, adding to the flavour are the mustard seeds, along
with some curry leaves. Well to add on to the yummy recipe are peanuts and
fried daria dal, which also ensure good health nutrients. Peanut gives the
cornflakes a crisp and some spice to the recipe. This cornflakes is a perfect
combination of having some healthy meal and also ensuring that your taste buds
are not upset with the regular and boring meals. To add on the recipe is the
fact that it has chapatti included in the cornflakes, which makes it filling
and healthy at the same time and also helps me stay away from mu junk food diet
for a pretty long time. Well, I am eagerly looking forward to enjoy this recipe
